Cheese Omelette Roll (Egg Paratha Wrap for Kids)
چیز آملیٹ رول (بچوں کا انڈا پراٹھا ریپ)
This is the school-morning version of the Karachi anda paratha roll: a beaten egg poured onto the , a paratha or roti pressed on top so they cook together, a slice of cheese, then rolled up tight. It's mild, so small children like it, and it holds together well enough to eat in the car or pack in a lunch box. Use leftover rotis from last night's dinner and it costs almost nothing.

Method
Tap a step when it is done.
Beat one egg per roll with a pinch of salt and pepper, the tomato and coriander.
Heat a over medium-low heat with a teaspoon of butter. Pour in one beaten egg and swirl it into a circle about the size of the roti.
While the egg is still wet on top, press a roti or paratha onto it. Cook for 1 minute until the egg sticks to the roti, then flip and cook the other side for 1 minute.
With the egg side up, lay a cheese slice in the middle, roll up tightly and leave on the tawa for 30 seconds, seam down, so the cheese melts and seals it. Cut in half and serve with ketchup.
Kitchen notes
Add finely chopped capsicum or grated carrot to the egg for extra vegetables.
For a lunch box, wrap the cooled roll tightly in butter paper; it stays together until lunchtime.
For adults, add chopped green chili, onion and a pinch of chaat masala, Karachi-style.
A desi breakfast wrap
Egg and roti is the most common breakfast in Pakistan, and this recipe just puts them together in a form children enjoy. Cooking the egg straight onto the roti glues them into one, so nothing falls out. A slice of melting cheese adds flavour and helps seal the roll.
Ten minutes, start to finish
There’s very little to prepare: beat an egg, warm the tawa, and you’re done in the time it takes to make chai. Leftover rotis are perfect. Frozen parathas are richer and flakier but contain more fat, so they’re better as an occasional treat.
Making it child-friendly
Keep the seasoning mild for young children: a little salt, pepper and tomato. Older children might like a spoon of green chutney or a pinch of chaat masala. Cutting the roll into pinwheel slices makes it more fun to eat.
